The Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) was established in 2018 at Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology (SMIT) (ID – IC201810273) with the mission to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty. As part of the National Innovation and Startup Policy initiated by the Government of India, the IIC aims to create an ecosystem that encourages creative thinking, problem-solving, and the development of innovative solutions.

The IIC at SMIT plays a pivotal role in promoting a multidisciplinary approach to innovation. Under the guidelines and guidance of The Ministry of Higher Education, Government of India, The Institution’s Innovation Council was formed in Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu with the ID- IC20201810273. As per the committee meeting organized on 01.09.2023 and 30.11.2023, The following activities are conducted for the quarterly activities for the Academic Year 2023-2024.
