ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FINANCE/PURCHASE COMMITTEE

  • Finance Committee will regulate the revenue generation from various sources like tuition fees and funds from various organizations.
  • To formulate a financial plan for the institution’s ongoing day-to-day operations.
  • Fix financial targets and formulate strategic plan to achieve them.
  • To prepare a guidelines and process for procurements of materials, equipment, stationary and other items for the Institution.
  • Preparing the college budget for every year
  • The Purchase Committee ensures that the college acquires necessary materials in a responsible and efficient manner, maintaining transparency, and quality while adhering to institutional and regulatory guidelines.
  • Submission of purchase requirements.
  • To prepare and issue requests for quotations, tenders, or proposals to suppliers, items of purchase.
  • Ensure that purchases are aligned with the college’s needs and long-term goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions for audit purposes
  • Prepare an audit statement at the end of the financial year.

 

FUNCTIONS OF THE FINANCE/PURCHASE COMMITTEE

  1. Finance committee finalizes the institution’s budget, including the financial aspects of new programs and services, and capital expenditures.
  2. Review the purchase requests from each department and library requirements at each semester.
  3. Consolidating the annual Institutes budget requirement for submission to the Governing Body approval.
  4. Communicating the budget given by management to the departments and monitor the utilization of department budget.
  5. Analyze the expenditures under various heads in a financial year and submit a report on the utilization of the budget to the Governing Body.
  6. Reviewing and monitoring the organization’s financial statements, reports, and financial performance indicators.
  7. To mobilize resources through donations from society, through funding agencies under various schemes, etc.
