IEEE Communications Society
IEEE ComSoc is a professional society within IEEE focused on advancing the theory, practice, and application of communications and networking technologies. It supports the professional growth of its members by providing access to cutting-edge technical knowledge, forums for collaboration, and opportunities to develop skills relevant to the evolving communications landscape. ComSoc is one of the prominent technical societies under IEEE Technical Activities Board.
Our Chapter
The IEEE ComSoc Student Branch at SMIT College actively promotes interest in communications and networking technologies. The chapter organizes workshops, seminars, and hands-on sessions on key topics such as wireless communication, IoT, network security, and 5G. It also hosts coding challenges and collaborative projects to sharpen members’ technical skills. The chapter strives to enhance learning and innovation in communications while fostering professional development among students and faculty. Through these initiatives, the IEEE ComSoc SMIT chapter contributes significantly to the technical growth and knowledge enrichment of its community.

The Communiquiz event, conducted on September 17th, 2025, was organized by the IEEE Student branch Communications society. The objective of the event was to test participants’ knowledge in the field of communications, networking, and related technologies while promoting active learning through a fun and competitive quiz format. Students participated enthusiastically, showcasing their technical knowledge, quick thinking, and problem-solving skills in various quiz rounds. The event not only encouraged participants to deepen their understanding of communication technologies but also enhanced teamwork and collaboration among peers. The top three teams were recognized and awarded for their exceptional performances, making the competition both exciting and intellectually stimulating. Overall, Communiquiz successfully created an engaging platform for students to learn, compete, and celebrate the spirit of knowledge sharing within the campus.
