About SMIT
Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology (SMIT), established in 1996, is the best engineering college in Chennai, located on Kundrathur Main Road, Chikkarayapuram. As a leading Chennai engineering college, SMIT has been granted Autonomous status by the University Grants Commission (UGC), enhancing the institution’s academic flexibility and quality initiatives. The Institution is approved by AICTE, New Delhi & affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The Institute has got recognition from UGC under 2(f) and 12(B) scheme and participated in the National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) process. Being recognized as a top engineering college in Chennai, Our college has also participated in the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE). The college is in the 30th year of illustrious functioning and contributing to the cause of Engineering & Management Education.
