The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Sri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology successfully organized a One-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Digital Education – With Special Reference to SWAYAM Initiatives” on 1st August 2026 at the ANR Auditorium.

The session was delivered by Dr. S. Arulchelvan, MA (JMC), MBA, Ph.D., FCT-PDF., RPF., Professor & Head, Department of Media Sciences and Director, Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC), Anna University, Chennai. He provided valuable insights into digital teaching methodologies, online learning platforms, and the effective utilization of SWAYAM for enhancing teaching, learning, and professional development.

The program emphasized the significance of integrating technology into higher education, promoting blended learning, developing high-quality digital content, and encouraging faculty members to leverage SWAYAM courses for academic enrichment. The interactive session enabled participants to gain practical knowledge on adopting digital educational practices aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) and contemporary pedagogical approaches.

The event was coordinated by Dr. V. Anitha, Dean & Vice Principal and IQAC Coordinator, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members across various departments. The FDP concluded with an engaging interaction session and a vote of thanks, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to continuous professional development and excellence in digital education.
