The department has the following laboratories with latest equipments
The Surveying laboratory provides latest instruments with new technology. The lab offers with latest equibments such as Total Station (2” Accuracy in measuring), Modern theodolite and dumpy level. The Laboratory has enough exposure to the students of civil department to the outside developments. The laboratory will be conducted in practical exposure manner. All the students will be taught necessary practical oriented observations and problem solving skills in the field. This laboratory has enough scope for the students for their employment in the field of ground surveying. At the end of the course the student will posses knowledge about Survey field techniques.
The civil engineering department is well equipped with SM lab. The Lab is established to enhance the understanding of the Concepts of machines and the scientific properties of materials through practical exposure by way of conducting various observations. This Laboratory has, UTM (100 Ton Capacity), CTM (40 T capacity), Torsion testing apparatus , Spring testing apparatus and so on. The experimental work involved in this laboratory should make the student understand the fundamental modes of loading of the structures and also make measurements of loads, displacements and strains. Relating these quantities, the student should be able to obtain the strength of the material and stiffness properties of structural elements. This labs caters to the students of Master of Business Administration and Mechanical Branches.
Student is introduced to open channel flow characteristics including hydraulic jump and surges. Hydraulic machines viz. flow through turbines and pumps including their performance characteristics and design aspects are taught. Student, at the end of the semester will have the abilities to analyse flow characteristics in open channel and design hydraulic machines. Student should be able to verify the principles studied in theory by conducting the experiments.
The Computer Aided building drawing lab is fully furnished with latest systems configured with higher end capacity to perform smoothly. The Laboratory offers as a course and at the end of this course the student should be able to draft on computer using latest CADD Softwares. Students will be able to draw building drawings (Plan, elevation and sectional views) in accordance with development and control rules satisfying orientation and functional requirements for the following type of buildings: Buildings with load bearing walls, Flat and pitched roof – Including details of doors and windows, RCC framed structures, Industrial buildings, North light roof structures, Trusses and Perspective view of one and two storey buildings.
