M.E Applied Electronics
The Department of Applied Electronics offered by this department is on a semester pattern, the first semester being common to all branches of engineering. The department offers instruction in subjects relating to Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and promotes R&D activities in related areas, collaborating with industries, wherever possible.

The students are exposed to the practical and industrial aspects of the subjects through laboratory work and periodic industrial visits. The students are encouraged to participate and present papers in national level technical seminars. Computer aided software packages with multiple-choice questions are used by the students for self-study and evaluation.

The students are enrolled in professional bodies like Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA, and encouraged to become members of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and the Institution of Engineers (India).
The department has the following softwares to cater to the needs of students projects and R&D activities.
SCILAB, MathCAD, Edwin XP, PCB Design and PSPICE.

Several papers have already been published by the ECE department. In particular, there is considerable scope for R&D activities in the following areas
SCILAB, MathCAD, Edwin XP, PCB Design and PSPICE.
  • Communication systems: Satellite Communication, Fibre-optic Communication, Microwave Communication, Biomedical Telemetry. Digital Signal Processing: Image Processing, Image Compression, Speech Processing.
  • Antennas and propagation: Ionosphere studies, Microwave and mill metric wave propagation, study of Antenna at different frequencies.
  • Biomedical signal processing.

  • Electromagnetics
  • Asynchronous VLSI Circuits.
  • Neural Networks: Neural net-based character recognition.
Student Area
