The department of EEE established in the year 1996 and it is equipped with excellent infrastructural facilities in consultation with various industries and institutions so as to keep the students in tune with the needs of industry.
A comprehensive coaching program by a dedicated faculty, combining the advantages of sound theoretical knowledge with practical application of the same, and aided by exposure to the latest technologies moulds the students into excellent engineers. It also fosters creativity and independent thinking among the students.
The department has offered an undergraduate B.E., degree course in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. All these courses are affiliated to the Anna University. The department organizes programmes to provide the students with industrial and practical experience through training and project work in industries so that they are able to meet the industrial requirements and face real life situations.

Students Area
It is clearly seen that the course content not only covers the power engineering but also includes about 70% of electronics communication and computer engineering. The students are therefore ideally suited both for power Engineering jobs and software engineering jobs and services by just studying one or two other subjects in computer and Information Technology.
  • The students of the department have participated in seminars / symposiums conducted by the various educational institutions in the state and presented papers on topics related to the current trend and also have bagged prizes.
  • Students are given opportunity to download information and to take seminars through Internet.
  • The department organizes a number of industrial visits and tours to the various electrical and electronic industries to expose the students to the real life situations and to enhance their practical knowledge.
  • The student performance is continuously evaluated through monthly tests, assignments and model examination and by a semester end university examinations. The students are encouraged to become members of professional societies like Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), USA, Institution of Engineers, India and the like.
  • Laboratories are spacious and equipped with the state - of-the-art equipments, computing facilities are available for software development and validation to enable the students to carry out project work in the laboratories.
  • The department encourages students to carry out projects in industries and promotes collaboration between industry and institution.
  • The students in the department are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities, which are vital in the development of young minds and they blossom into full fledged engineers.
  • Seminars, guest lectures, symposiums and industrial visits are arranged periodically for the benefit of the students
