B.E Mechanical Engineering
The department of Mechanical Engineering offers undergraduate programme since 1996. The department consists of a distinguished members of faculty, which enjoys a close interaction with the students. The department has been closely monitoring the current industrial scenario and maintains close contact with several reputed organizations. This department contributes to the development of technical manpower needed by our country in the various areas of Mechanical Engineering. Presently, it offers the following courses.
  • B.E. Mechanical Engineering
  • M.E. Computer Aided Design(CAD)
All these courses are affiliated to the Anna University. The department organizes programmes to provide the students with industrial and practical experience through training and project work in industries so that they are able to meet the industrial requirements and face real life situations.

Both the undergraduate as well as the postgraduate degree programs follow the semester pattern with periodical internal evaluation that culminates with the University examination at the end of each semester. Modern multimedia teaching technologies are used to supplement lectures and enhance the quality of teaching.
Examination
  • The department regularly conducts two unit test and one model exam in every semester.
  • The students performance is continuously evaluated.
  • These tests improve their understanding of the subject and help them to perform better in the university exam.
Students Area
  • Quiz Programmes are conducted to improve student's understanding of the subject.
  • Students are given opportunity to download information and to take seminars through Internet.
  • Students are taken industrial visits aroung Chennai to see how the various engineering techniques that they have studied have been put to use.
  • Students can evaluate the staff members on their performance once in every semester and suitable remedial measures are taken to improve the performance of the staff.
